About Me
I'm Dr. Rajkumar Muthusamy, a hands-on roboticist and engineering leader with over 13 years of experience across academia and industry. I specialize in autonomous robots, with a strong focus on mobile manipulation and robot learning. I conceptualise, design, develop and build robotic systems and solutions for real-world applications, lead cutting-edge R&D projects, and grow high-performing research teams to drive the future of robotics.
Currently, I serve as the Principal Robotics Scientist at the Dubai Future Foundation, building technology roadmaps, leading innovation in robot manipulation, mobile platforms, and autonomous systems. I'm also an Adjunct Professor at MAHE Dubai, where I teach Robotics and Control Systems, and I serve as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Robotics & AI and Manufacturing Technology.
In 2020, I was honored with the Finnish Engineering Award for pioneering all-weather autonomous driving technologies that advanced Finland’s robotics capabilities. To date, I’ve authored over 40 research papers, filed 5 U.S. patents, and led international collaborations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
I stay deeply engaged with the global robotics community — delivering keynotes, organizing workshops, judging competitions, and reviewing for leading venues such as IEEE, ICRA, and IROS.
